THE STORY

8/23/15

Today I shaved my head… my biggest worry in fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. I anticipated this day as the hardest day in my survival journey, but I can't stop smiling because today was actually a wonderful day. I gained my "I don't give a f*ck” today. I feel on my worst day, I can be confident in myself because I am confident without my favorite, defining feature. I can do anything. I am not afraid of who I am or what the world may think of me. I am a bad ass. I am 100x stronger today than I was yesterday and tomorrow I will wake up 100x stronger again.” -mAraLee

That day inspired mAraLee to transition from working in the music industry supporting others’ careers to living her dream on stage. She stopped playing covers and decided to share her mind and music with the world. In just her first year of writing and performing, mAraLee played all original tunes at The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, The Loft in East Lansing, The Elm Room in Birmingham, on Ann Arbor’s 107.1 FM Radio, various other venues and spent 6 months in Israel writing music.

"I am 100x stronger today than I was yesterday and tomorrow I will wake up 100x stronger again."
